BRANDING: INSIDE OUT
Here’s a quick invitation I put together for the upcoming AgIdeas Studio Access night we are hosting at FutureBrand Melbourne.
I can’t say this is a statement I agree with but here’s a poster I designed for brand strategist and PowerPoint aficionado Florencia Tarelli.
Drawn in anticipation of Mad Men Season 5.
Here’s a poster I designed for a 50’s American diner themed party FutureBrand Melbourne hosted late year. The title ‘5 Dollar Shake’, is a reference to the Jack Rabbit Slims scene in Pulp Fiction.
“Red State is a horror film in which a group of misfits encounter fundamentalism gone to the extreme in Middle America.”
Over the past year I have become a big fan of the illustrated, limited edition movie posters that Mondo, The Alamo Drafthouse in Austin Texas and The Astor Theatre here in Melbourne have been releasing. Since I now own more of these posters than I have hanging space on the wall, I figured it might be time to stop buying and start designing.
Here is my 70’s exploitation film inspired poster for Kevin Smith’s upcoming horror film Red State. I originally posted a somewhat unfinished version of this poster on my old Tumblr blog . After the very positive response I received(thanks to a Twitter shout-out from Kevin Smith himself), I decided to spend some more time on it to reconsider the typography. It also gave me an excuse to finally play around with some of the great fonts from Lost Type Co-Op.
While this design is only conceptual, if you would like to see it get printed as a limited edition run you could always tell @thatkevinsmith directly on Twitter.
