My identity design for The Beatle Boys originally began in 2009 as a university project, back when the band was still going by the name The Beatles Experience. We were given an assignment in which we had the option to either do work placement, or to self-manage ourselves on a design project of our choice. Being a recently new fan of The Beatles at the time, I jumped at the opportunity to design a new visual identity system for the very popular live stage show in which my cousin plays Ringo Starr. While the design was well received it was never implemented.
A few months ago my cousin called to tell me that the guys were working on a new The Beatles show and would like me to adapt my original concept to work with the new show title, The Beatle Boys. After looking back at the design two years later I still liked the concept but the execution was a little lackluster. This seemed like a very rare opportunity to be able to polish a design that I never felt was quite there.
I found going back to the well with this project was a really interesting experience as the finished project shows exactly how much(I hope) I have grown as a designer in the last couple years. View the full project here.

Mike from The Beatle Boys just sent me through a photo of his freshly printed drum skin.
